Gaya is a peaceful holy town next to a river where people go to do something very loving for their family elders who are no longer with us. Long ago, Lord Vishnu placed his foot here to bless this ground, and you can still see that giant holy footprint inside a temple today! There is also a huge, magical banyan tree here that never grows old. When families come to Gaya, they prepare tiny, round food balls made of rice and grains called Pind Daan and offer them with prayer and water. Stories tell us that even offering just a tiny grain of food here makes our grandmothers and grandfathers feel completely full, peaceful, and super happy in heaven with God.
